A Christmas To Remember!
Let's have a beautiful, wonderful Christmas! We can do it no matter how much money we have. I was going through some old magazines with Christmas stuff to make in it. I thought, why can't we "update" it? I will be putting my "updated gifts to make" here as soon as I get them done. Maybe tomorrow! Many take no time at all. You can give them as gifts or keep them for yourself. Trust me, you won't want to give them up! lol
How about learning to knit or crochet? It's easier than you think. There are so many sites on the internet to help teach you. Then, you can make some awesome gifts such as... scarves, hats, mittens, washcloths, dishcloths, blankets, and afghans. These are the easy things to make once you learn the basics of knitting or crochet. Just think how many people would love a handmade gift from you! Here are some links to get you started:

I know you can do it. Check these out and let me know how it's going.
I have a soup mug rug pattern that I have been working on. Maybe, I'll put the pattern up for all of you knitters! You could make a few of these, add some soup cups, spoons, soup, and put all of it in a nice basket wrapped with ribbon. Instant gift that you made!
Well, get busy knitting and crocheting and let me know how great you are doing.

Is The World Coming To An End?
`What is everyone doing now? I'm trying to get my shoulder back into shape. Dr. appointment Friday. I need to get my strength back ASAP! My house is making me claustrophobic!!! How can I get my kids to clean? They come home do homework, eat, computer, tv & sleep. What happened to the old days? We had to come home & eat, do homework, do our chores, (dishes, cleaning, garbage, ironong, etc.), then you could go outside, friends, or watch tv. Nowadays, you can't tell me what to do! There are laws against treating kids that way! What way! Teaching you to be clean, organized, responsible, etc.! My kids come from college & they have an excuse, too. I have tons of homework to get done. I'm tired. I thought that now that my hubby & I are getting older that the kids would pitch in and help. HA! I guess I will just take my time & clean a little here and a little there until it all gets done, but if anything is out of place... sorry, but I'm reverting back to the old times...Smack! That doesn't go there! If any of them say you can't do that... well, I will say,"you can't do that to me! there are laws against treating the elderly(even though I'm not that old yet) that way!!! What is going on with this generation? Is the world coming to an end?!

Off to College!!!
My son is off to college for his first year with my daughter who is a sophmore. My only son, I thought it would be different! No. Well, different in that he thinks that everything is going to be done for him. Ha! Now he's finding out what the real world is like. I don't know if he likes it or not.
They had band camp for a week before classes were to start. So, we got them up there with the essentials & said we would bring the rest up in a week. Misch says, " I hate it here! It's boring!." Well, all of us told him to give it a chance. Wait until classes start. Plus the fact that the college didn't put him in "his" room because there were football players in it. They told him to stay in the basement with 4 other guys & he could move back up there in "2DAYS!" Are you kidding me?! He was helped by band friends to move into "his room" which was really nice of them. As the week went on, he seemed to enjoy himself alot more. Got to know some people & depended less on his sister, (who he hardly talks to or sees now).
My son, who use to talk to me everyday, now bearly texts me unless he needs something! What happened to him? Money is flowing through his hands like water! Is there a money tree out back that I don't know about? What about a job up there mister? He doesn't have time. Can you beleive it! No time. His sister is a triple major with a minor. She has time for a job & to call me sometimes a few times a day. He is undecided with fewer classes. He doesn't know what he wants & he has NO TIME!!! HELP ME LORD!!! WHERE DID I GO WRONG?
As for books... How can they cost so much? I'm finally done getting all the books that they need. My daughter got some from a friend which cut the cost tremendously. I looked into renting books because, lets face it...who keeps all their books after the class? Granted some books you want to keep, but for the majority you try to sell them. What do you get for them? Next to nothing! So I checked into renting them online. I did alot of searching & comparing. The best deals to me were renting except for one book which I purchased on ebay. If anyone would like the list of sources here it is:
collegebookrenter.com ecampus.com textbooks.com barnesandnoble.com half.com
There are a couple of sites that compare for you: dealoz.com & CheapestTextbooks.com
They list most of the sources for you & some have coupons.
Thought I would help some of you out. Happy book searching!!! Until next time....Babushka Babies I love you!!!

She will be a very good mother, after all, I taught her well. lol. Daddy is the very doting daddy, so proud. I went over to help out for the week after they came home. Loved it! Got to see them both. Oh yes, and daddy. I got to cook my delicious food for all of them. No complaints. lol. Lots & Lots of pictures, will put them up asap.
Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. All of us have alot to be thankful for. Will keep you updated on things going on here.

Thanksgiving
How was everyone's Thanksgiving? Our's was fine. We had the turkey & everything that goes with it. Thankful for all that we have. Babushka baby # 2 will be going in to have her baby on Saturday. Can hardly wait! We had some bad news also. My Aunt Mary, who is also my Godmother, had surgery & is now on life support. Wishing I could have had more time to get up there to see her. Busy lives must find time to see the people that we don't see often. She will be in my prayers as always.
